-What is AGNES acne treatment?

AGNES acne treatment is the latest laser treatment for acne in Korea. Our skin has thousands of sebaceous glands that produce oils called sebum which keeps your skin moist. They are located in sebaceous follicles next to individual hairs.

When this oil mixes with dead skin cells, it blocks a pore producing a pimple as a result. This treatment will selectively destroy individual problematic glands leaving other healthy glands untouched

-Is this treatment permanent?

It is a long-term cure for acne with a low acne recurrence rate. Side effects are very minimal making this treatment safe for pregnancy and breastfeeding mothers. This is performed over a two day period for those who have mild acne or blackhead issues. However, two to three agnes treatments are needed to fully cure severe acne.

Handpiece used for AGNES

For AGNES, a MICRO-INSULATED NEEDLE with special coating is inserted into your skin to send heat energy that destroys targeted sebaceous glands. Damage to the surrounding skin is minimal with a low recurrence rate compared to other acne treatments. Renovo Skin Clinic uses two different types of handpiece for this treatment.

Process of AGNES

1.Excessive production of sebum causes blocked pores, leading to acne breakouts.

2.Pimples are extruded from the skin to reduce the size of sebaceous glands.

3.The micro-insulated needle is inserted to deliver heat energy to the target area and destroy sebaceous glands.

4.Extruding a second time will prevent further recurrence.

Frequently Asked Questions

Frequent treatment is not required for AGNES acne treatment. Many clinical experiences show that a person needs approximately 3 treatments in 2 years. Usually, it is advised to have a time gap for about 1-2 months before the secondary treatment. A third treatment is required when acne reoccurs after a few months.

Some patients worry that they may suffer from the side effects of xeroderma when sebaceous glands are removed directly from your skin. However, your skin has thousands of sebaceous glands; you will not experience sudden dryness after the procedure with the amount of sebaceous glands we remove.

According to many clinical experiences of Renovo Skin Clinic shows that acne was removed permanently for over 90% of our patients (up to their second procedure). If your acne reappears after a few months, you are recommended to have a third treatment. After the third treatment, the recurrence rate is remarkably low.

*This procedure is not available if you have any orthodontic appliances as it delivers high frequency (electricity)*
